Seasonal Worker - Marine FisheriesBackground: Fisheries Biology Location: Port Republic, Atlantic County Job Description: Assist with field and data processing duties of fishery research projects conducted by the NJ Bureau of Marine Fisheries. This includes working aboard small boats, setting nets, sorting, quantifying and measuring the catch. Record catch and other pertinent data in the field in addition to measuring basic water quality parameters utilizing proper instrumentation. Responsible for maintenance of buildings, grounds, vehicles, boats, trailers and equipment. Data entry of New Jersey's fisheries dependent data. Requirements: Ability to identify various marine and estuarine finfish species. Basic computer skills including experience with MS_WORD, MS_EXCEL and MS_ACCESS. Completion of an accredited boating safety course is desired. Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey. Compensation: $7.50 - $11.50 an hour (depending on education and experience)
