Background: Marine fisheries biology, scuba diving and basic understanding of marine electronics and GPS systems.
Location: Nacote Creek Shellfish Office, Port Republic, Atlantic County
Job Duration: February through October, 2016
Job Description: Assist Bureau of Marine Fisheries staff with work related to the Artificial Reef Program.
Duties will include:
- Preparing vessels for sinking and deployment
- Inspecting reef materials
- Assisting with deployments
- Monitoring of deployed reef structure via scuba diving
- Vessel maintenance and operation
- Plotting vessel deployment locations on ArcMap (GIS)
Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid NJ driver's license. Preference will be given to applicants certified in scuba and possessing a safe boating certificate.
Compensation: $10.00 per hour
