2012 Spring Trout Weekly Stocking Schedules

NOTE: 2012 Freshwater Digest Correction:

On Page 18 in the section headed "Spring Trout Stocked Waters With No In-Season Closures", the first paragraph should read: After opening day, these waters may be fished on the day they are stocked. The existing text incorrectly states that these waters are closed on their designated stocking dates. We apologize for any confusion.

Changes and updates will be posted below as necessary; changes will also noted on the 24-hour Trout Stocking Hotline, 609-633-6765.

In-Season Stocking Schedules:

Week 1, April 9 - 13
Week 2, April 16 - 20
Week 3, April 23 - 27
Week 4, April 30 - May 4
Week 5, May 7 - 11
Week 6, May 14 - 18
Week 7, May 21 - 25

Trout Conservation Areas

Note that the following Year Round Trout Conservation Areas are not stocked as frequently as the rest of the stream due to the special regulations (one 15" trout per day, with no harvest allowed during the pre-season and in-season stocking closures that apply to each stream):

Musconetcong River - Point Mountain
Toms River
S/Br. Raritan River - Ken Lockwood Gorge
These stretches are scheduled for stocking during the pre-season period, Week 3 (April 23 - 29), Week 6 (May 14 - 18) and Week 7 (May 21 - 25). The Claremont stretch on the S/Br. Raritan River is not stocked with trout because reproducing populations of brook and brown trout are present and provide a trout fishery.

For information on where to fish, visit our pages on lakes, ponds and reservoirs and streams and rivers open to public angling.

The following waterbodies will not be stocked with trout during the spring of 2012:

Blair Lake
Blue Mountain Lake
Diamond Mill Pond
Grenloch Lake
Pohatcong Lake
Prospertown Lake

Any deviations from the stocking schedule will be noted here and on the Trout Hotline (609-633-6765).
